This past week, the city of Vaughan was hit by a vicious Tornado. Most of our congregation lives in this city, including the towns of Woodbridge and Maple, which were hit the hardest by this storm. By God’s grace, none of our people suffered death or serious injury. But several of our families, both in Woodbridge and Maple, suffered property damage. There were a number of eye-witness testimonies on Sunday of seeing this fury in full force. The Lord’s house and property were spared any damage.
We are surely thankful no one in the City of Vaughan was killed, though surveying the destruction, it is a miracle. It is our prayer that the Lord would use this event to draw souls closer to Himself. It is a sobering warning of the suddenness of tragedy and how all mankind needs to be prepared to meet God. For Christians, it is also a comforting reminder that, in times of trouble and tribulation, we have a faithful and compassionate God to Whom we can turn.
